“I am not a wise mother.”

Welcome, dear you.
I’m Hillary.

I want you to know, here at the start, that I am not a wise mother. By God's grace, I hope I'm becoming a wiser one.

I entered motherhood in my forties after many years of marriage and infertility. My husband and I have one son, our beloved Solomon, who I am teaching at home. In the past few years, my little family has gone through so much, including intense spiritual warfare and battered mommy syndrome. Without our faithful Lord, we would not have survived.

In 2017, after a lifetime of legalism, wandering, and a season of extraordinary emotional grief, Jesus brought me out of the new age & saved me. In 2020 He made me a mother. In the years since, He has allowed me to experience many hardships in life & parenting that have shaped who I am and what I offer today.

I don’t have decades behind me as a mother, but the Lord has used deep, intense trials to teach me so much that I hope to pass on to other women—especially what it means to trust the Lord and seek Him in every moment for every need.

Writer, artist, mother, wife.

I am obsessed with the gospel of the grace of God, the very best children’s books, and learning to love well.

Besides my work as homeschooling mama & a mentor for mothers, I am a writer and graphic designer. I make pretty websites on Squarespace for faith-based makers & entrepreneurs, and I design art prints, one-of-a-kind mugs, t-shirts, generated art prints, and more. I’m hoping to become a revived dollmaker and I also love to bake all things savory and sweet.

Here are some other places to find me right now:

I’d love to stay in touch, kind friend. When you sign up to hear from me (which happens about once a month), I’ll send over a free collection of meditative Psalms that I’ve recorded for you, so you can download and listen anytime you need a moment of peace.

Grateful you’re here.

Love, Hillary

Pour a cup of coffee and let’s talk. (Babies are welcome, too.)

Sometimes we all need a listening ear, a hand to hold, and some gracious, biblical advice. This is real life, sister. You don’t need to get a babysitter (unless you just want to). For 1:1 support, I’m here.
